On-site and remote IT support for a Wimbledon office

The challenge

A small office in Wimbledon — the UK base of an international holdings company — needed IT support it could count on nearby. There was no in-house IT person, the chairman travelled often, and when something needed doing it usually needed doing that week, before he was away again. What they wanted wasn’t a big managed contract; it was a dependable local contact who could turn up when it mattered and handle the rest remotely.

What we did

Our team stepped in as that point of contact and worked around how the office actually runs:

• On-site when it counts — we arranged visits to the Wimbledon office at short notice, fitting them around the chairman’s travel so the important things were dealt with in person before he left.
• Remote in between — for the smaller, quicker issues we picked things up remotely, so the office wasn’t waiting on a diary slot for a five-minute fix.
• Email sorted — we checked their business email was sending and receiving properly and confirmed it end to end, so day-to-day correspondence was reliable.

The result

A busy office got what a small team without in-house IT really needs: a known number to call, help that comes to them locally when hands-on work is required, and quicker remote fixes the rest of the time. IT stopped being something to worry about around a packed travel schedule.
