Business Phone Systems & VoIP

Hosted VoIP phone systems that ring on any device, follow your team anywhere and cost a fraction of an old PBX.

Phone lines that don’t tie your team to a desk

Traditional phone systems were built for one office and one desk per person. That stopped matching how most businesses work. Staff split time between the office, home and client sites, the old PBX box in the cupboard costs a fortune to change, and calls to the main number still ring one lonely handset that nobody’s sitting next to. Meanwhile BT is switching off the old analogue and ISDN lines, so a like-for-like replacement isn’t an option anyway.

Hosted VoIP (voice over internet) fixes this. Your phone system lives in the cloud, calls travel over your internet connection, and every extension can ring wherever your people actually are.

What we set up

  • Hosted VoIP system — no on-site phone box to maintain, add or remove users in minutes
  • Auto-attendant & call handling — “press 1 for sales”, opening-hours routing, hunt groups, voicemail-to-email and call queues so nothing rings out
  • Softphones & mobile apps — take and make calls from a laptop or phone on your business number, not your personal one
  • Desk handsets & headsets — supplied and configured where people want a physical phone, or quality headsets for softphone users
  • Number porting — your existing numbers moved across with no gap in service
  • Microsoft Teams & CRM integration — dial from Teams, pop customer records on the CRM you already run
  • Call quality tuning — voice prioritised on your network so business broadband carries calls cleanly

Who it’s for

Small and mid-sized businesses across South London, Croydon and Surrey that are outgrowing a basic line, dreading the ISDN switch-off, or paying too much for too little. It suits offices with a reception and departments to route calls between, professional firms that need calls logged against client records, and hybrid or fully remote teams and home-workers who need one business number that reaches them anywhere without handing out a personal mobile.

How it works

  1. Assess — we look at how calls flow now, how many users and numbers you have, and test whether your broadband is ready for voice
  2. Design — we map your menu, opening hours, departments and who each call should reach
  3. Port & build — we move your numbers across and build the system in the background, with no interruption to your current line
  4. Roll out — handsets, headsets, softphones and mobile apps set up, staff shown how it all works
  5. Support — we manage changes, add and remove users and keep call quality healthy as part of your ongoing IT

Problems we commonly fix

  • Calls to the main number ringing out because only one desk phone rings
  • Staff giving out personal mobiles because the office line won’t follow them home
  • An ageing PBX where every small change means an engineer visit and a bill
  • Choppy, dropping VoIP calls caused by an unprioritised or under-provisioned network
  • Numbers stuck with an old provider you want to leave
  • No call menu, so every call lands on reception regardless of who it’s for
  • Phone system and CRM living apart, so no calls are logged and nothing is traceable

Phones are only half the picture. A reliable system also needs a well-built network underneath it — see our networks & Wi-Fi page — and it’s usually simplest to run both as part of managed IT support. If your team lives in Microsoft 365, our Microsoft 365 & cloud work ties your calls, email and Teams together. Not sure where to start? Get in touch and we’ll talk it through.

Frequently asked questions

Can we keep our existing phone numbers?

Yes. We port your current numbers — landline, non-geographic or mobile — across to the new hosted system, so customers keep dialling the same number and you lose no calls during the switch.

Will VoIP call quality hold up on our broadband?

On a healthy business connection, yes. We test your line, prioritise voice traffic on the network and, where needed, put calls on their own path so a big download can't break a call. If your broadband genuinely can't carry voice, we tell you before you commit.

Do staff need desk phones, or can they use a laptop or mobile?

Both work. The same extension can ring on a desk handset, a softphone on a laptop and a mobile app at once. Many teams skip physical handsets entirely and run headsets with softphones — you choose per person.

Can the phone system connect to Microsoft Teams or our CRM?

Yes. We can route calls through Teams so staff dial from the app they already use, and integrate the system with common CRMs so calls pop the customer record and log automatically.
