Frequently asked questions
My computer is infected right now — what should I do first?
Stop using it for anything sensitive, don't pay any ransom or "support" number on screen, and if it's a work machine disconnect it from the network. Then call us — the sooner we isolate it, the less chance the infection spreads or data is lost.
Can you remove it remotely, or do you need the machine?
Most infections we can clean remotely the same day. If it's ransomware, won't boot, or has spread across several machines, we'll come on-site — across London, usually the same day.
Will I lose my files?
Usually not for ordinary malware. Ransomware is harder — recovery depends on your backups, which is exactly why we check and fix your backup as part of the job.
